Pattukottai is a very important town in the residuary Thanjavur district and a nerve centre for all activities, business to agriculture and education to employment. The Town connects all the important areas of the District-Thanjavur, Mannargudi, aranthangi and coastal town like adirampattinam, the legendary port adhiveeraramapattinam and Manora, a tourist Center. There are agricultural (Horticultural) Research Station, State Orientation center for rural development, very famous privately funded hospitals to name the few facilities. There is the linkage to chennai, karaikudi and Rameswaram through railway also. This town is no doubt on the tail end of the grand canal of the Cauvery Mettur Project but the town is very green like a Mediterranean coast.
The area of the land chosen for development of housing plots is 17.85 Acres. It is a land owned by four persons. The highly resourceful Managing Director Mr. Mohammed Aslam has entered in to agreement with the rightful owners for sale of housing plots in this area. The owners conferred Power of Attorney on him to develop the site and negotiate the sale of plots on their normal rains, the water table is available at shallow depth of soil and it is sweet and potable. There is no much Chemical industries so there is absolutely no case of apprehension of pollution of atmosphere or subsoil water. In fact the atmosphere is salubrious and not unduly humid.
The plan for the site was technically approved by the state Director of Country & Town Planning and accorded approval by the Local Planning Authority. As it is there are 199 housing plots of various linear measurements indicated very clearly in the plan itself. The width of the Main Road is 40’ and connecting road is 30’ to 23’. All the roads are all weather roads and metalled. There is provision for Street Electric lights and piped water supply distribution system. Provision has been made for a park with adequate area. The roads will have good avenue trees to make the entire area green
